My new computer!!
So, last week I took my federal income tax return and put some of it towards a computer. I was in desperate need. So I got a pretty nice widescreen HP laptop. I love it. I actually took official possession of it today. A friend of mine (thanks Dave!) installed all the software for me, and the internet people came and hooked up that stuff so I am now on-line. Yay!! I think I'm going to become like Delilah and blog a lot! I just hope my blog becomes as popular as her's is. :) Actually, I really don't care if I'm the only one who ever reads my blog. Whether people read it or not doesn't bother me. I still enjoy writing. I now have to get a more comfortable computer chair!
Anyways....as most of you probably know, my dad passed away on March 11. The whole family has been taking it pretty hard. It was completely unexpected. He collapsed at church after the service while talking to friends. There was a paramedic on scene who did awesome starting CPR and doing everything possible. We are pretty sure it was a heart attack since his family has history of heart problems. We really stuck together as a family during it and did all the planning together; which I think was best for all of us. Thank you to everyone who sent cards, flowers, and came to calling hours and the funeral. Keep us in your prayers. It is still a hard adjustment for all of us. Elisabeth hasn't been taking it completely well. Some days are better than others. She had gotten into the habit of when she was mad at me to call grandpa at work, or home, or where ever he was so she could tattle on me. She still occasionally cries for him (like she is doing right now). She doesn't fully grasp the concept of death, and heaven, and that it is permanent. We're working on it and staying consistent in what we tell her.
Well, I have a lot of housework and laundry to do today. Fun stuff. Plus I'm rearranging a few rooms. Today is pretty much my only chance to do all of it with work. I stayed with my mom for over a week after my dad died, so my house got completely neglected. Today I found a dead spider who found his way into a tupperware bowl that had fallen on the floor and couldn't get out. Oh the joys. Well, more blogging to come. I can be more consistent now (hopefully) that I have the time (kinda, sometimes) and ability to be on the computer. Let me know how everyone has been doing! Bye!
