My new hobby....
So, I have a new hobby and I absolutely LOVE it! I even have pics for you. As someone who is pretty much broke, but planning on moving out on my own (with Elisabeth of course) in a few months after settling into a job, I'm gonna need a ton of stuff. So, how do I get all the stuff I'll need to furnish a place of my own? Well, I find crappy stuff and make it better. So off to yard sales I go. It's actually pretty fun to see what kind of stuff other people have and don't want. Last week I went out to a couple and found three very old, very ugly chairs (yes only 3, not 4). Bad finish, bad vinyl on top....here's what they looked like....
Yeah, pretty bad. So now my new hobby comes in. I love refinishing furniture. Don't ask me why, I have no clue, but I love it! I get to be creative, have fun, and be busy. So, I got all three of these chairs for $5 at this yard sale. I found maple finish in our basement along with padding to put under the new covers I planned on making. I went to Jo-Ann's during their big sale last week and found the perfect soft material. I paid $2.75 for a yard and a third. So, for less than $8, I have three beautiful chairs. Here's what they look like now...
Amazing. I love them. One for me, one for Elisabeth....who's gonna sit in the other one? Hmmmm.....I'm sure it'll get filled eventually......
So, if anyone ever finds or has a piece of furniture that needs refinished, let me know! If you provide the stuff, I'll come out and do it. :) Well, that's my fun new hobby. I can't wait to get ahold of something else so I can refinish it! Off to yard sales again this weekend. My only problem...(other than money)....I don't have a vehicle large enough to get big stuff home....anyone willing to help?

You did a great job, keep it up! Wish I had you around for awhile, I could use your talent.
How well I remember the "struggling" days, later in life you will look back on the "hard times" and they won't seem so bad, in fact sometimes I miss them!
